Your Role and Responsibilities
As a WMS Managing Consultant at IBM, you will have the opportunity to work on strategic, high-stakes projects driving significant improvements with our clients. Our team leads the different phases of the consulting lifecycle. You will be involved in business process consulting, define the problem, propose, and create the solution. You will play an important role in the development, configuration, and deployment of the overall solution. You will guide teams on project processes, deliverables and contribute to the proposal development and the detail the project scope.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The WMS Managing Consultant owns the professional relationship with our customers, acting as their advocate, trusted adviser and point of escalation for all issues arising from the delivery of our services. The role includes aspects of business development, client management, and technical delivery across a broad array of client accounts. The consultant assists clients in the selection, implementation and support of WMS solutions which naturally include design, configuration, and testing. The consultant will provide functional and business process expertise on a project team which generally consists of consultants, subcontractors, remote global resources, and client employees.
Participate in pursuing client sales opportunities.
Work on bid & proposal efforts.
Assessment of client business problems.
Conduct the analysis to solve the problems.
Influence and communicate with all levels of stakeholders.
Leads design activities and gap analysis.
Prepare and present executive presentations and reports on program status.
Manage the configuration of the WMS solution.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
At least 15 years of delivery experience in supply chain with a minimum of 5+ with warehouse management system experience.
Experience of client relationships at senior management level within the enterprise space.
Direct experience delivering a WMS project with one or more of the following platforms: WMOS, PkMS, RedPrairie/JDA/BlueYounder, HighJump/Korber
Willingness to travel across North America.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 6 years of experience in Business Process Consulting, problem definition, Architecture/design.Detailing of Processes
At least 5 years of WMS project implementation experience and integration with other process areas
Strong WMS SME with knowledge of Inbound Processing, Outbound Processing, Physical Inventory, RF Transactions, cycle counting, and MHE integration.
Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead team in resolving complex issues in a fast pace and challenging environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience with project management
