CITY OF BILLINGS FIRE CHIEF in BILLINGS, Montana
The Fire Chief acts as a key partner in helping the City Administration and the City's leadership team shape the City's organizational culture and implementing the City's vision. The Fire Chief manages and oversees the activities and operations of the Billings Fire Department and City/County Communications Center and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Administrator.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. These hours may vary based on operational needs.Salary: $107,927 - $137,729 annually. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's education and experience. (This salary range reflects Steps 1 and 6 of a 7 step pay scale.) Minimum Skills/Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree.- Twelve (12) or more years of combined education and experience in the areas of personnel management, fire suppression and prevention and incident command.- Experience with city government and knowledge of department and function operations.- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, and a Federal and State criminal background check.Preferred Skills/Qualifications:- Master's degree, or equivalent.- Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation.Equal Opportunity Employer.
