Montana State University Billings Director of Alumni Relations & Anual Giving in Billings, Montana

Alumni Relations will include creating value-added alumni engagement and alumni relations programs with alumni. Maintains alumni database, plans and executes Foundation and Alumni Relations events, and implements a social media campaign and strategy as directed by the Foundation CEO.Annual Giving will include developing a strategy of community engagement leading to the execution of annual giving fundraising campaigns, events, and stewardship activities that create meaningful connections and build donor relationships with the community and University to secure, retain, and grow annual support.Key Responsibilities:Alumni Relations:* Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy to maintain strong connections with MSUB alumni.* Plan and execute events and networking opportunities specific to MSUB alumni to engage and encourage their active involvement in the University and Foundation & Alumni.* Coordinates and oversees the scheduling and conduct of meetings for the Alumni Advisory Board and various committees, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.* Travels, attends, and participates in a variety of constituent alumni events as necessary.Annual Giving:* Plans and implements an effective Annual Giving Program, including promotion, budgeting, goal setting, and strategy to secure financial contributions from alumni, donors, and supporters.* Plans and coordinates the annual Scholarship event and assists with planning and coordinating other donor recognition events.* Coordinates and implements a variety of fundraising components including crowdfunding campaigns, direct mail, email, giving days, web/digital, phonathon, Community Campaign and Faculty/Staff Campaign in collaboration with Foundation’s Development Team and University.* Build relationships with donors and potential donors, keeping them informed about the Foundation & Alumni and University initiatives and impact.Marketing Collaboration and Coordination:* Directs the MSUB Foundation & Alumni Marketing and Communication Initiatives, acting as the key liaison with the MSUB marketing staff to ensure unified messaging and branding.* Develops and implements strategic social media plans to enhance engagement, visibility, and community interaction for the Foundation and Alumni, aligning with overall marketing objectives of the University.* Assists with the coordination of efforts in support of the Annual Report publication.Other Duties as Assigned:* Executes additional tasks and responsibilities as designated by the executive leadership, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to contribute to various projects and initiatives in support of the MSUB Foundation & Alumni mission and goalsRequired Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills* Bachelor’s degree* 2 to 3 years’ experience in alumni relations, fundraising, or related fields* Knowledge of philanthropic trends and best practices in alumni relations and annual giving.* Proficiency in MS Office Suite and proficiency in Canva or In Design preferred.* Experience in using fundraising software and managing databases highly desired.* Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel between campus and off-campus events as needed.* Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.* Results-driven, with a focus on achieving fundraising goals and driving engagement.* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work independently combined with skills to collaboratively work in a team environment.* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks.* Belief in the MSUB Foundation & Alumni mission, vision, and values* Belief in the long-term difference education makes in the lives of individuals, families, and communitiesMontana State University Billings is committed to providing a working and learning environment free from discrimination.
