Electro-Mechanical Weaving Technician

Job Summary: To install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and upgrade electronic and computer-controlled mechanical systems within the weaving department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using charts, diagnostic software, technical manuals, and expertise.

2. Tests the performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as electronic voltmeters, and multimeters.

3. Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.

4. Installs electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.

5. Align, fit, or assemble parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.

6. Inspects parts for surface defects.

7. Operate metal working machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures.

8. Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

9. Troubleshoot, repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances.

10. Communicate with equipment operators for clarification of problems. May discuss preventive techniques with equipment users to minimize future repairs.

11. Follows all safety policies and procedures.

12. Support and follow the Lock Out / Tag Out program.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

1. Assembly skills and knowledge to assist in the assembly of standard/custom machinery.

2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings.

3. Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, use precision measuring and gauging instruments.

4. Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.

5. Ability to weld is a plus.

6. Previous weaving machinery experience is a plus but can train.

7. Ability to get along with teammates.

8. Ability to come to work for each scheduled shift.

Education and Experience:

1. Formal mechanic education

Physical Requirements:

1. Continuous standing and walking.

2. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

3. Visual acuity to read instructions and operate and repair machines.

4. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach and evaluate/repair machines
