Sunterra Farms Production Manager in Beresford, South Dakota
Multiple positions available for Production Manager [Sunterra Farms Iowa, Inc seeks multiple Production Managers. Jobs located in Beresford, SD. Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of agricultural related workers. Oversee and support team leads in their role to ensure optimal performance and animal welfare. Direct the activities of a team of contract growers and barn labor team. Directly supervise a nursery- grow finish system, contract growers and barn labor team. Ensure completion of stated goals in productivity, costs and employee measures. Accountable for a system which strives to achieve excellence with industry standards and achievements. Manage inventories and ensure efficient scheduling. Implement standard operating procedures. Identify improvement areas within grow finish system and follow through. Monitor key priorities such as, pig placements, biosecurity, health, medication and vaccine usage, pig flow and marketing. Responsible for regular and accurate reporting of results and action plans. Provide technical and leadership development to new and existing contract growers and barn labor, as well as monitor performance. Train and develop employees and growers on company's standard operating procedures. Liaise closely with the senior management team to review and decide the best options for current and future contractual relationships. Work effectively with partners responsible for providing inputs to the grow finish process, feed mill managers, nutritionists, veterinarians, agronomy and transportation. Requires Bachelor's degree in an agriculture related field or foreign equivalent of Bachelor's degree in an agriculture related field.
