Job Description

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Role Title: Reporting Product Manager / Financial Crimes and Compliance Management

Overview

Oracle’s Financial Services Analytical Applications group is responsible for the development and marketing of financial industry-specific marketing, profitability, risk management, fraud, and regulatory compliance analytics applications. Our software is used in over 70% of Global Systemically Important Financial Institutions. Our market leading financial crime and compliance software suite is used by leading financial institutions globally and underpins Anti-Money Laundering and Enterprise Fraud systems at some of the largest financial institutions in the world.

Oracle software is powered by advanced analytics and our group employs data scientists, financial engineers, software developers, and product managers; all of whom are focused exclusively on developing advanced analytical applications for the Financial Services Industry.

Role Description

We have a world-class team of product managers who are responsible for our Financial Crime and Compliance (FCCM) applications. You will be an integral member of this team and be primary owner of our reporting application for on-premise and cloud implementation across the globe.

We are looking for an individual to design and define a leading BI solution that delivers critical information to various users across all our products. This reporting portal will speak to various personas within the banks: Chief Compliance Officers, managers, IT leads and investigators. You will partner closely with your colleagues to understand their product user’s needs and then bring those reports to life through your product.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of how to design and develop operational reports and reporting portals for various business and technical personas. Candidates must have experience with enterprise grade software applications. Being able to define, track and communicate the status of product roadmaps and efforts is critical. Knowing how to analyze the needs of users to design the optimal reporting portal which speaks to the specific user’s needs is a must. We are looking for a candidate who has firsthand experience in evolving existing solutions to address the needs of our user community through the implementation of a modern reporting portal for operational, executive, and technical users.

Responsibilities…

  • Be the product evangelist by owning all strategic and tactical aspects of your product. This includes inbound and outbound aspects such as market definition, roadmap, requirements, product timelines, sales and consulting enablement and market collateral.

  • Define the strategy and translate the department’s vision into practical product requirements and partner closely with Engineering and turn them into reality.

  • Partner closely with fellow Product Managers to understand the customers who use our products, empathize with them, and imagine creative ways we can make their work lives dramatically better.

  • Collaborate with development managers, software engineers and data scientists in developing forward thinking, market leading product features.

  • Meet regularly with stakeholders to discuss project status, goals, roadblocks, and areas for improvement. In most cases you will own these projects and the responsibility to track them will fall on you.

  • Ensuring the product backlog is kept up to date and development process is moving forward.

  • Lead design critiques, stakeholder reviews and customer demos.

  • Develop wire frames, story boards and mockups for the reporting solution to show how the user experience and interface allows individuals to better understand their use of our product, make informed decisions and realize improvements.

  • Stay well-informed of changing business intelligence technologies/methodologies

  • Present the development milestones to internal stakeholders and perform hands-on demonstrations of early prototypes to key customers.

  • Define and develop go-to-market release plans and product collateral that will support the sales, implementation, and on-going support of the product.

Qualifications

  • An ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience with a strong knowledge of data visualization tools (Spotfire, Oracle Business Intelligence, Tableau, ClickView, Pentaho) and strong SQL knowledge/DB architecture knowledge.

  • Experience with enterprise level software preferably in the financial service sector with a background in business intelligence/information management

  • Understand data visualization techniques, concepts and strategies that make for good design and ease of use.

  • Have prior experience and/or have prior professional consulting experience in delivery of software applications/solutions for persona driven business intelligence portals

  • Relevant experience in the areas outlined in the job responsibilities

  • MBA and/or Engineering degree or equivalent employment history with relevant Financial Crime and Compliance industry experience

  • Possess excellent communication skills to both technical/non-technical and internal/external stakeholders

  • Good working knowledge of Agile framework (preferably SCRUM). Experience of SAFe would be highly desirable.
