Nike Technology Engineer Manager- Demand Supply Management (DSM) in Beaverton, Oregon

What you bring to Nike:

  • MS/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related subject area, or 12 years of relevant exp in leu of degree

  • 8+ years of experience in large-scale software development

  • 3+ years of management or team lead experience

  • Expertise in building cloud scalable, real time and high-performance application solutions

  • Ability to define/design solution options, evaluate technical feasibility, and provide estimates on effort and risk

  • In-depth knowledge and experience Engineering essentials such as languages (Java, React, Python)

Who you will work with:

As an engineering manager you will be instrumental in driving technical designs and reviewing business requirements while leading software engineers and delivery. You will lead by example in setting good development practices, be an advocate for optimal patterns, use new technology, and mentor engineers within the team. You will work closely with architects, tech leads, and other managers to make sure all solutions adhere to existing guidelines and principles and assist in evolving our processes to continuously improve, partnering with product managers to deliver innovative software solutions. A successful candidate will be a proven leader with excellent communication and relationship building skills in addition to modern and agile software delivery.

What you will do:

  • Perform as a technical contributor in providing technical leadership and guidance to the team to ensure conceptual, logical, and integration designs are create following core engineering and architectural principles that meet the supportability, security, and scalability principles.

  • Drive the creation of technical design in alignment with architecture that has a right level of detail to inform the team on the technical direction/implementation

  • Articulate team’s delivery of scalable, maintainable, performant engineering solutions

  • Work through you teams to define/design solution options, evaluate technical feasibility, and provide estimates on effort and risk

  • Collaborate across teams - business partners, product, engineering, architecture, platforms - to facilitate solution delivery

  • Drive collaborative reviews of designs, code, and test plans

  • Own the resource plans for the area (right talent and team composition)

  • Mentor and develop other engineers

  • Prepare and delivers performance evaluations and conducts performance management coaching
