We're in search of a dedicated individual to join us as the Continental Breakfast Manager at a charming establishment, ensuring a delightful morning experience for our guests.

As a Continental Breakfast Manager, you will curate and present a delightful continental breakfast, setting the perfect tone for our guests' mornings. Work closely with the breakfast service team to maintain high standards of presentation and service. Craft a warm and inviting breakfast atmosphere, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable start to their day.

Our establishment in Bar Harbor offers a unique and welcoming atmosphere, committed to providing exceptional experiences in this picturesque coastal town. As the Continental Breakfast Manager, you'll play a crucial role in creating a positive morning routine for our guests.

You will be working your magic on a full-time seasonal basis from March to November. Your schedule will be 40 hours a week. Weekends, nights, and holidays are a must.

Job Duties:

  • Menu Planning: Create and develop a diverse and appealing continental breakfast spread.

Ensure the menu accommodates various dietary preferences and restrictions.

  • Food Presentation and Setup: Supervise the setup and presentation of the continental breakfast, maintaining an attractive and clean display.

Arrange food items aesthetically, adhering to hygiene standards.

  • Quality Control: Monitor the freshness and quality of breakfast items, maintaining consistent high standards.

Rotate and replenish food items as needed to ensure quality.

  • Staff Coordination: Lead and supervise the breakfast service team, providing guidance and support.

Coordinate with kitchen and service staff for smooth breakfast operations.

  • Guest Interaction: Interact with guests during breakfast service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.

Address guest inquiries, special requests, and dietary considerations with professionalism.


  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels for breakfast items.

Place orders and track food costs to stay within budget.

  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for breakfast service staff on menu items and service standards.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling.

Implement and enforce cleanliness and sanitation protocols.

  • Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback from guests and staff for improvement opportunities.

Implement changes to enhance the overall breakfast experience.

  • Budget Management: Assist in budget planning and adherence, ensuring cost-effective operations.

A Continental Breakfast Manager excels in culinary expertise, leadership, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional breakfast experience for guests.

Skills Required:

  • Decision making using fair judgement.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Effective communication, written and verbal.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing and working at the front desk.

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to work early mornings, unpredictable hours, including weekends and holidays.

Required Education and Experience

  • No specific education required.

  • 2 years of Food & Beverage Management

Performance Measurement:
