Role and Responsibilities

  • You will have a chance to work on material from all other departments of the FAB since Metrology supports all operation groups (MFG/UP/PIE) and supporting groups (Device, QA, FA, and ME).

  • Metrology is to provide support to the fab with accurate and precise measurement data.

  • This open position is for a E2/Senior Inspection Applications Engineer , specifically focusing on defect detection, engineering analysis, troubleshooting/resolving issues daily in a factory environment, providing strong customer service to internal and external customers, decision making, daily tool health monitoring, automating routine tasks, improving BKMs (best known methods) and recipe setup for new & old devices.

  • Candidate must be able to run Design of Experiment (DoE) and analyze the data to achieve the best solution.

  • The Inspection team provides most of the critical inspection data for device performance, yield, and quality, so candidate contribution will be counted on at every step.

  • Metrology engineers and experienced application technicians will train candidate step by step, so please be a part of our fun and exciting team!

  • Defect recipe developer for Discovery Inspection tool set (D4/D5/D6/D30).

  • Produce new/engineering recipes development and optimization for both lines S1 & S2.

  • Technical presentations for information sharing and cultivation.

  • Interface with Defect Engineering, Process Integration, failure analysis, manufacturing and other unit part engineering departments for metrology related items.

  • Documentation of work details after the work is done in timely manner.

  • Maintain tool-to-tool matching (TTTM) and tool health monitoring, and changing point management CPM).

  • Daily monitoring of daily qualification key metrics including products trend and respond to internal customers’ highlights and concern promptly.

  • Troubleshooting recipe/tool related issues with equipment team to isolate root causes lead to solution.

  • Recipe setup for new devices using the Metrology Guide and auditing to ensure matching to process flow, latest BKM and golden parameters.

  • Troubleshooting with factory automation team, data collection, and lot track-out issues.

  • Work with multiple discipline metrology engineers on multiple cross-functional projects.

  • Worked on advanced assignments with minimal to no supervision.

  • Provides guidance to non-exempt and exempt personnel.

  • Work days and hours: 1st shift, M-F, 8am-5pm.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum Four Year Bachelor’s degree in related field (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry).

  • 3+ year experience in semiconductor required.

  • 3+ year experience with defect inspection tool set a plus, especially Discovery5/Puma6 tools set Four years of semiconductor experience preferred and knowledge in process and defects.

  • Experience with metrology inspection tool set a plus, especially D30, DF BF tools set specific.

  • Knowledge/experience with D30, BF DF inspection application work writing defect recipes and perform TTTM.

  • Four years of semiconductor experience preferred and knowledge in process and defects.

  • Experience with metrology inspection tool set a plus, especially D30, DF BF tools set specific.

  • Knowledge/experience with D30, BF DF inspection application work writing defect recipes and perform TTTM.

  • Experience with metrology inspection tool set a plus, especially D30, DF BF tools set specific.

  • Experience KLA inspection and review.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Attention to details.

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point.

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to prioritize large workloads on a daily basis (Multitasking).

  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement attitude.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Familiarity with some computer programming (Java, C++, Python, Visual Basic, MATLAB etc.) preferred.
