What you’ll do:

The Internal Control & Risk Management Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, reporting and monitoring both existing and emerging risks. This individual will support all RPS business functions, helping to drive improved risk and governance processes, facilitating issue resolution, and will partner with second and third line of defense partners to ensure compliance with various policies and framework expectations. This role will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with numerous business partners across the entire organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support risk mitigation and remediation strategies and the implementation of those strategies throughout the business.

  • Lead efforts related to retrospective reviews in accordance with established policy.

  • Collaborate with business partners, team members and management to sustain and strengthen the internal control framework through risk and control identification; control design and implementation; and the remediation of issues.

  • Provide consultation, facilitation and analytical support to ensure internal controls are properly implemented to provide flawless client service and compliance with regulatory obligations.

  • Lead special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What you have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum 3-5 years internal control risk management, auditing and/or project management experience.

  • Strong client focus (internal and external), an understanding of client needs and workflow, and an ability to communicate these needs to internal partners including Schwab senior management.

  • Strong mediation skills - must have the ability to weigh multiple stakeholder perspectives, escalate issues, and partner with manager to drive timely and effective decision-making.

  • Ability to effectively lead meetings with peers and business partners.

  • Solid business acumen, attention to detail, flexibility, and judgment to evaluate issues/problems of high complexity and make sound decisions.

  • Industry experience related to retirement recordkeeping, mutual funds, operations and/or investment management services preferred.
