The Office of the Governor is looking for a Grant Manager (Grant Specialist III) to work in the Public Safety Office (PSO) - Justice Programs.

The salary is $5,250.00 - $5,687.50 a month ($63,000.00 - $68,250.00 a year).

What Youll Do
This is a job that performs highly complex (senior-level) grant development, coordination, analysis, monitoring, and administration work. Work involves evaluating grant applications for eligibility and appropriateness; assisting with monitoring schedules and reports; and analyzing performance data to determine the efficacy of funded programs. Writes and edits reports, briefs, plans, and other documents. Effectively communicates with applicants, grantees, subject matter experts and other professionals to accomplish mutual objectives.
- Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates grant funded programs.
- Reviews grant applications to determine eligibility for award based on established criteria and compliance with program guidance, state and federal statutes, and other requirements.
- Negotiates changes with potential grantees to make adjustments that ensure accountability and that the project scope meets the requirements and priorities established by the PSO or the federal government.
- Reviews and approves requests for payments involving multi-million-dollar state and federal appropriations.
- Initiates contact with requestors to discuss potential ineligible items or to request additional documentation to support requested funds.
- Communicates with CEOs/CFOs of private corporations; city and county leaders; state agency executives; and other professionals about grant priorities, guidelines, and requirements.
- Develops, establishes, and maintains productive and effective business relationships with other state and local criminal justice agencies and organizations as required to fulfill the objectives of this position.
- Identifies agencies who fail to comply and initiates a request for the PSO to hold further funds to the agency.
- Develops and executes monitoring schedules and reports.
- Prepares and reviews grant closeout materials.
- As assigned, represents the Governors Office at meetings related to division funding opportunities and allowable activities.
- Provides guidance to PSO staff, grantees, applicants, and others, including via conferencing and other means.
- Ensures grantees compliance with conditions of grants by monitoring and analyzing agreements, contracts, expenses, activities, and federal and state regulations; removes or clears the conditions when all requirements are met.
- Provides technical assistance and works with grantees to develop corrective action plans.
- Reviews performance targets, reported metrics, and prior performance to assess whether a potential continuation grant or active grant is meeting its goals.
- Manages the collection, organization, and analysis of data using Excel and Access databases.
- Assists the Program Administrator in coordinating the workflow of grant-related activities.
- Contributes to process improvement efforts by identifying concerns and trends related to grantee compliance, identifying process issues or opportunities to streamline, and drafting new or revised processes or checklists, as assigned.
- Provides training to potential and current grant recipients on the application process and reporting requirements.
- Attends conferences, trainings, and other professional development opportunities to increase job knowledge and technical expert se.
- May work with Program Administrator to develop funding plans and priorities that align with designated state and federal sources of funding.
- Serves as a liaison between the OOG - Public Safety Office, grant funding sources and the federal government by attending meetings, responding to information requests, and resolving issues between parties involved.
How Youll Qualify
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in grant or program management.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
