UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Cashier I (32 hour / 9 month) in Austin, Texas
Greet and interact with internal and external customers in a professional and enthusiastic manner while providing excellent customer service. Accurately enter transactions in Micros (a point-of-sale system), process customer transactions including cash, credit cards, and meal plans. Accurately identify food items, portion sizes, and meal combination packages as needed. Assist in restocking shelves, coolers, and cashier supplies. Ensure all HAACP logs are completed as required. Ensure front of the house is clean and all areas are fully stocked including coffee, grab-and-go coolers, condiments, and napkins.Assist in providing training and guidance to temporary and student staff as assigned by the supervisor and/or leader. Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, supervisory staff, and/or customers. Maintain current knowledge of all areas of responsibility.Clean and close dining area; including cleaning tables, emptying trash, and cleaning any equipment as required. Adhere to UHD cash handling guidelines. Complete paperwork related to cashier operation, including transfer of funds reports, closing reports, cash reconciliation sheets, and deposit envelopes.Adhere to written and oral University and UHD policies such as time and attendance and UHD / UT trainings and compliance. Complete and maintain required food safety training, including Texas Food Handler Safety. Follow work safety guidelines and utilize proper PPE as needed. Other duties as assigned.
