Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Field Engineering Department Head/Engineering Manager 3 for the Mission Systems Engineering and Sciences (MSE&S) organizationbased out of Aurora, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence leading the Field Engineering Department in Aurora, CO. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Engineering & Sciences (MSE&S) Field Engineering Organization. This is a dual-hat position responsible for both personnel management ( 50% of time) for a multi-disciplined team of 80 100 engineers and existing technical/program responsibilities (50% of time).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Functional oversight for a team of satellite systems engineers, integrators and field engineers of varied disciplines.

  • Staffing and workload forecast; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; identification and training of employee skills required to successfully execute on programs; and execution of employee performance review processes.

  • Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, performance management and contract maintenance for contractors working in the business area as required.

  • Issue identification/reporting as well as status reporting up the MSE&S and program management chains.

  • Engage in the preparation of department-related meetings, proposal work statements and operating budgets

  • Technical contributor / leader in a program role

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience as a manager Or a High School Diploma/GED with15 years of relevant experience as a manager may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree

  • Active Top Secret (TS) security Clearance

  • Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead teams across multiple engineering disciplines and programs

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant experience as a Manager

  • Experience in activities related to satellite operations and launch services in a 24/7/365 work environment

  • Experience leading in multi-contractor team environments

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated capability to make difficult decisions that impact team direction and team performance outcomes

  • Active SCI access
