FCA US, LLC Design and Release Engineer Fascia and Grille in Auburn Hills, Michigan
The Design and Release Engineer – Fascia and Grille will be responsible for developing a fascia/grille from initial design concept through full volume production. Provide feasibility input for development of fascia/grille design from Product Design Office (PDO) concepts, sketch, and clay models. Establish and manage development timeline for life of project. The Engineer will develop functional objectives, build objectives, DVPR, and DFMEA for fascia/grille. Engineer will lead fascia/grille design, leveraging external design source and/or internal CAD design resource. The Engineer will be responsible for the release of completed fascia/grille geometry using CATIA/NX CAD tools. Validate virtual designs of fascia/grille using CAE and physical validation via component, system, and vehicle level testing. Manage internal documentation for release of fascia/grille systems. Plan and oversee tool construction and production fascia/grille assemblies. On-site support for vehicle pilot builds and production launch at assembly plant. Responsible for root cause analysis and determination of corrective action for issues with assembly, fit/finish, and functional performance. Analyze and remediate warranty, identify cost reduction opportunities on production fascia / grille systems.Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university•5 years of product development experience•Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Power Point)Preferred Qualifications:•Experience with development of complex assemblies consisting of multiple components•Ability to reach consensus on complicated issues•Ability to resolve conflicting requirements across multiple organizations•Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills•Strong computer software skills•Experience in setting and assessing customer (internal/external) level requirements•Experience in constructing component and full vehicle DVPR•Experience with defining functional objectives and constructing DFMEA•Experience with NX, Teamcenter, and change management processes•Passion for vehicles and the ability to access full vehicle performance characteristics•Ability to construct work plans to resolve issues•Ability to lead large teams, determine gaps to targets and develop solutionsOur benefits reflects the FCA commitment to helping you reach your personal and professional goals.
