IMI Industrial Services Group Electro-Mechanical Technician in Athens, Georgia
IMI is currently looking for a full time Electro-Mechanical Technician located in the Athens, GA area. Individuals must be willing to work within a 75-mile radius of the Athens, GA area. Electro-Mechanical Technicians have developed skill through technical training in the electro-mechanical field or in a related program through an accredited technical school and / or previous field experience of 1-3 years. Individuals should possess basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the electro-mechanical field. They rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions and they work under immediate supervision. Electro-Mechanical Technicians generally report to a Foreman, General Foreman, or a Project Manager. Electro-Mechanical Technicians provide skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas. Conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Tasks that Electro-Mechanical Technicians are required to perform include, but are not limited to:
Install, maintain and repair a variety of electro-mechanical equipment
Perform calibration activities to ensure compliance with set industry codes
Modify and adjust complex process equipment and instruments
Perform regular and preventative maintenance on installed electro-mechanical equipment
Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, logic controllers, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
Install electric parts and hardware using equipment such as soldering irons
Align and fit assemblies using hand and power tools
Perform inspection on a daily basis to determine startup problems
Fabricate housings, jigs and fixtures by operating metalwork machines
Repair and calibrate pneumatic assemblies to meet job specifications
Diagnose issues with complex control systems and employ tactics to resolve them effectively
Maintain knowledge of drawings, blueprints, schematics and inspection manuals

Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, & bend for extended periods of time.
Use arms & hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
Lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Must be able to work indoors & outdoors, including times of inclement weather.
Manual dexterity needed for repetitive tasks & to operate standard operating equipment.
Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines & in close quarters performing analysis & repair work.
Must be highly safety cautious & have ability to see & escape from dangerous situations.
Ability to climb a ladder & step into various pieces of equipment.
Good physical fitness, eye hand coordination & ability to quickly respond to sounds.
Good sense of balance & ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
Ability to wear PPE correctly for working shifts.
