As the Safety Manager , your more typical responsibilities will include:

o Provide leadership and direction around all safety and health regulations, policies, and procedures, and assure continuity and consistency of safety policies and procedures.

o Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interfacing with management personnel.

o Participate in developing and conducting safety and health training programs that are specific to the work environment and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

o Lead the investigation and root cause analysis process for safety and health incidents in a timely manner.

o Work with senior leadership to drive the needs for safety and health awareness and safe work practices by implementing safety programs and procedures.

o Conduct data analysis, communicate safety performance metrics and goals for operations, and regularly track and report progress against safety goals.

o Evaluate and analyze injuries and related trends at plants, and work directly with those operations to establish root causes and corrective actions.

o Develop and implement action plans to improve site safety performance, tracking and measuring corrective actions and improvement.

o Proactively identify and interpret new and existing laws, rules and regulations applicable to the Company and work with leadership on program development and implementation.

o Proactively address Employee safety and health issues in a positive manner that builds trust with employees.

o Serve as a resource for safety and health questions and concerns for company employees, supervisors and managers.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities:

Qualifications include :

o Self-motivated with a positive, results-focused attitude.

o Knowledge of the regulatory compliance required for the Federal, State and local governments related to Occupational Safety and Health.

o Well-developed logic and reasoning skills to recognize potential problems, draw conclusions and identify solutions.

o Ability to communicate strengths and weaknesses of proposed solutions and propose alternative solutions.

Active listening skills, paying attention to understand others and asking questions to ensure clarity.

o Strong attention to detail.

o Strong presentation skills.

o Ability to access, analyze, enter, and otherwise work with information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system.

o Effectively communicate with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the Company's Operations

o Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or related field.

o Knowledge and experience working with OSHA regulations required.

o Will consider candidates with at least (10) years safety experience in an equipment, manufacturing or industrial environment in lieu of education.

o Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification a strong plus.

o Ability to walk, stand, interact with employees and equipment on Plant floor for most of shift.

o Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 20% is anticipated with this position.
