Mercury Systems Principal Planner in Alpharetta, Georgia

Summary: We are actively seeking a Principal Planner that will be integrated with the Supply Chain team. This team manages and executes the production planning activity at our Alpharetta, GA facility. You will support of the Processing Technologies division, with our focus in meeting customer delivery and quality expectations, as well as ensuring Mercury business plans and objectives are achieved. Make a difference in and performing activities related to production planning and execution (including RMAs), work order management, material risk mitigation, and capacity assessment for our Alpharetta, GA. Facility. You will be a key stakeholder in helping to achieve Mercury’s focus areas of predictable performance, a thriving growth engine, margin expansion, and cash release through delivery performance and inventory management. Job Responsibilities: * Ensuring plan and schedule alignment with MPS in a rolling two-quarter planning horizon. * Creation and maintenance of work orders per MPS * Coordinating production plans within an integrated supply chain organization to ensure materials are available to maintain factory execution and escalating material constraints in a timely manner to avoid disruptions to the MPS. * Collaborating with Master Scheduling/SIOP, Purchasing, Operations, Logistics, Quality, Program Management and Engineering to review and status execution of build plans and identify, mitigate, and resolve potential constraints to the plan. * Report production status for program specific milestones * Ensuring MRP integrity is maintained including analyzing and responding to MRP exception messages accordingly. * Maintaining promise date integrity to communicate changes to customer commitments in a timely manner. * Ensuring production schedule is in alignment with business’ quarterly revenue plans. * Recommend and execute cost savings and efficiency improvements by identifying opportunities in material usage variance and yield. * Develop, manage, and maintain processes to manage KPIs and metrics to understand drivers and impacts of changes. Utilize tools to assess risk with an emphasis on predictive analysis. * Lead project teams in value stream and continuous improvement projects. Monitor progress and collaborate with other key stakeholders. * Support implementation of engineering change orders and provide impact to schedule to MPS * Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field. * 6+ years of relevant experience. * Experience in advanced Excel functions. * Experience in production and capacity planning. * Experience in advanced planning tools such as Kinaxis or Oracle ASCP. Preferred Qualifications: * ASCM (APICS) certification. * Experience in working in the defense industry. * Experience in ERP with Oracle/SAP experience. * Team Player: Collaborates with key stakeholders, gains commitment to meet timelines and influences others without direct authority. * Driver and Goal Oriented: With limited guidance, identifies tasks needed to support desired outcomes, and challenges potential delays to drive necessary actions for results. * Organized: Demonstrated ability to stay organized with multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Good decision making and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented. Time management and workload prioritization capabilities are key. * Flexible: Comfortable working in an adaptive environment with limited guidance from manager.
